I vote no for three reasons. (1) I don't believe that people have the right to take another person's life, no matter what s/he has done. (2) I think that executing a child rapists and murderer is letting him off too easy. Personally, if it were me I'd rather be dead than sit in a cell for 50 years surrounded by inmates who want to do horrible things to me while guards look the other way. And (3) History tells us that the death penalty is not applied perfectly. Social bias and scientific limitations have lead to the executions of many people. For example, DNA evidence has cleared people executed up to 100 years ago. Black men were executed without substantial evidence. We think we're right now. They thought they were right then.
