Four out of ten happy smartphone users will be proud iPhone owners', 3 will own a BlackBerry device and 1 will be considering a new smartphone.
Which cell phone -- iPhone or Android -- will you likely be using 3-5 years from now?
It's quite a tough choice to make. Here is a small and quick snapshot of what's happening in the good-old USA:
1. A total of 234 million people age 13 and older in the U.S. used 3g cell phones and other mobile devices in December 2009. That's pretty much 95% of all Americans. (Source: comScoreMobiLens report). People use cell phones to SMS each other, update their twitter, facebook, flickr statuses, play mobile games, share photos, you name it...
2. Apple's iPhone cell phone gained its popularity do to the fact that iPhone is extremely user and media friendly.
3. BlackBerry, Palm and Microsoft clearly the drop in popularity of their platforms and, therefore, the number of users.
4. Android really gains momentum. Google's Open Handset Alliance over 60 members. And, those aren't just a bunch of programming enthusiasts who have computers and a desire to an application in their spare time. We're talking about serious players like Google, HTC, Motorola, Samsung, Vodafone, China Mobile, T-Mobile, Intel, Qualcomm to name a few.
5. According to the TechCrunch - together, Apple's iPhone and Google's Android cell phones (HTC and Droid) combined captured 81 percent of mobile web surfers.
6. Verizon has signed a $100 million advertising agreement to really present all features of the Android-based Motorola Droid cell phone. Verizon is taking Android very seriously.
7. While Apple's iPhone is extremely user friendly it lacks multitasking. While Android-based phones offer multitasking there are not nearly as many apps available on the market as there are for iPhone.
The list could go on and on... The only thing that matters is your opinion. What cell phone do you think you will own 3 to 5 years from now. Please scroll down to vote!
