Is Euthanasia Legal?

The issue of voluntary euthanasia and its legality is one of the most debated dilemmas of society.
On one had, euthanasia is a mercy and a fulfilled right of choice to die. This is the important argument for those suffering pain, and understanding, that sooner or later they will pass away. So why to torment themselves and their beloved ones? And from a legal side of a matter, who has a right to dictate, how one should treat his life? What kind of laws are those, which destine people to tortures?
On the other hand, there are strong reasons against euthanasia as well. People that claim euthanasia to be illegal, state that it is not a mercy, but a murder. Even excluding moral and religious arguments against it, from a legal side euthanasia is seen as a assisted suicide. The right to die or choose to die is not an official right, and cannot be promoted to such. Other cons of euthanasia include lack of professional help, as medicine workers are not allowed to assist a voluntary euthanasia; and a denial of hope - the cure for a specific sufferer can be discovered the next day after the voluntary passing away...

The person inhabiting a body, provided that person is conscious and of sane mind, has a right to sole control it.

For me, aggressive and non-aggressive euthanasia is indeed consider a murder, which I don't really accept it as a mercy. Passive euthanasia is mercy.
