Beautiful women presenting their looks, wisdom and talents on the stage. Nice dresses, makeup, broad smiles and at the end, the winner miss is chosen. How could such innocent events as the beauty pageants be negative?

On the one hand, beauty contests are just another sort of competition. The competitors attend beauty schools, learn to present themselves, to use cosmetics, to walk on the catwalk. They are doing it for good and for the promotion of beauty. Moreover, pageants build up women's abilities, skills and self-confidence. Finally, the winners usually travel all around the world and do good deeds - help poor children or work in many other socially useful campaigns.

On the other hand, beauty contests are not open to every woman - she has to fit into physical requirements, so this way many women are discriminated and demeaned. Furthermore, the contest itself is usually more about a physical beauty, and very little about professional or creative skills. Antagonist state, that the winners travel all over the world not for the sake of helping anybody, but for promoting pageant's sponsors and advertising their products - some kind of shampoo or perfume, for example. Beauty contests do very little for improving lives of other people, and they are mainly organized for profits.
