The champion of 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be clear after the ten-race playoff that will start on September 20th.

The new rules, implemented first in 2008, will be again applied. Twelve drivers who will qualify to this final stage of NASCAR race, will have their total points set to 5000 plus bonuses for each race they will have won till the beginning of the Chase.

The champion of the 2009 NASCAR series will be the driver who has the most points at the end of the Chase.
