Independence Day parties were always huge and festive all across America. Like second Christmas, it was a chance to celebrate extensively and to compete in the volume of fireworks.

However, this year signs are coming from various towns and cities that the sky will be silent and no special shows will be organized. Cost of parties, concerts, pyrotechnics, overtime for police, fire and emergency crews, cleanup, liability insurance and even trimmings are just too big for local authorities at such economic situation.

Looks like national pride is less important than money now...
